The Art Of Tim Stringer

I never claimed to be the most prolific of artists and this year has been a difficult one.  I am working and in the last week have actually finished three paintings.  But they won’t be ready for the public for a bit yet. I’ve got something up my sleeve.

Actually there are a couple of projects I’m working on right now.  The first is with a group of artists and we are jointly publishing a book.  Details are still being worked out but I’m thinking by mid July I should be able to say more. I will say that it is a very talented group and I’m very proud to be included.

The second project is another book, but this time it will be all me.  I do quite a lot of figures and some have never been shown anywhere.  I’m about to change that in that I’m working on a book of nothing but male figues.  I freely admit that the group book has motivated me to do the solo book.  I will be including past works that are currently available as prints, older works that have never been shown and several new works. If all goes as planned my book should be ready towards the end of August or early September.

I have my sister, Donna, to thank for this one and an overdue vacation. In any case if it were not for Donna, this painting would never have been. We were sitting at her dining room table and she was looking at quilting magazines. We are a creative family and she directs her creative energy into quilting. In one of them was a picture that looks something like my painting. So while I can’t take credit for the idea, the painting is all mine. 24×24″, digital painting.
